Timely Filing

Timely filing is when an insurance company restricts the number of days in which you can submit a claim. Each payer will set their own timely filing. For example, if Aetna has a 90-day timely filing requirement, you must submit the claim within 90 days of the date of service.

As a reminder, when a claim is near, at, or past timely filing, a message displays at the top of your Inbox. Click the claim number in the message to go to the Claim page.

Seven days or less: Yellow warning displays the claim number and the expiration date. Click the claim number to display the Claim page.

0 days: Red warning displays.

> 0 days: Red warning informs warns that the filing period expired.
